Arsenal’s reported interest in Eduardo Camavinga does not come as a surprise, especially when you consider that Paul Pogba has compared the midfielder to himself.

Earlier this month, Le10Sport reported that Arsenal have made the signing of Camavinga from Rennes their top priority in the summer transfer window.

The 18-year-old is a very talented and promising young player who is reportedly wanted even by Spanish and European giants Real Madrid.

Manchester United midfielder Pogba is a big fan of his France international teammate and raved about him in October 2020.

Pogba was quoted as saying by GFFN at the time: “His future is in his hands. He is very at ease, he is a little dancer. He makes me think a bit about me. He is not a timid person. It is good, because he is confident. He has confidence in his qualities. He is a very good youngster, I like him enormously.”

However, it seems that Arsenal are not going to be able to sign the French teenager.

Well-known and well-respected journalist David Ornstein has written in The Athletic that there is no chance that the Gunners will be able to bring the France international to the Emirates Stadium this summer, as shown below.

Camavinga will cost a lot of money. Le Sport reported that it is unlikely that Rennes will sell the youngster for anything less than €50 million (£42.97 million).

With no Champions League football next season, it is hard to see Arsenal cough up that much cash.

Camavinga has made 27 starts and seven substitute appearances in Ligue 1 for Rennes this season, scoring one goal and providing two assists in the process.
