Sheffield United boss Chris Wilder will be rewarded with a new contract, the Sun’s Neil Ashton reports [2 June, page 55].
Wilder, who led the Blades to the League One title in his first season in charge at Bramall Lane, has two years left on his existing deal.

However, the 48-year-old’s success with both United and Northampton Town, whom he took up as League Two champions the previous campaign, is said to have attracted “admiring glances” from other clubs.
The Blades’ league rivals Sunderland, Middlesbrough, Hull City and Leeds United are all looking to make appointments this summer, and Wilder was at one stage the bookmakers’ favourite to take the Stadium of Light post.

However, Ashton writes: “Eager to establish themselves as a Championship force, Bramall Lane chiefs are determined to make sure he sticks around.”
When asked last week about the prospect of a new contract on Alan Biggs’ Sheffield Live TV show, Wilder said he expected a conversation to take place at some point, but described himself as “relaxed” about the situation.
