Glasgow Rangers have not asked about signing Harry Wilson from Liverpool yet, the Athletic say, despite increasing speculation that he could be a target for Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox side.
Plenty of pundits have tipped up Wilson as an option for Rangers in the past week, which has led to speculation that Gerrard could try and sign the Liverpool winger in the summer.
Wilson is expected to be put up for sale at Anfield, but the Athletic say that Rangers have not shown any serious interest in him so far.
That could, of course, change as the transfer window progresses – but affording Liverpool’s price-tag will not be easy.
It is suggested that Rangers may not be able to fund a deal for him, as Liverpool will want £15 million for the free kick specialist.
Gerrard’s side have won the league and if they can qualify for the Champions League group stages then their budget will surely be boosted.

But whether Rangers could afford such an expensive deal is up for debate.
What is almost certain is that Wilson would be an appealing addition for Rangers.
Wilson has scored goals both at Premier League and Championship level and looks ready to find a new home where he can play regularly, if he does leave Anfield.
