Everton are said to be looking to appoint a new manager from outside of Goodison Park.

Everton have recently made an approach for Watford boss Marco Silva, but the Hornets are determined to keep hold of their manager.
Whether Everton will offer Watford a compensation package that proves too tempting to turn down remains to be seen, but the Toffees are thought to be looking towards making an external appointment.

Unsworth is currently in temporary charge, and he has made no secret of his desire to get the job on a long-term basis.
However, after three defeats in four games, the Independent suggest that Unsworth has not done enough to convince Everton’s board that he is the man for the job.

Unsworth did win his last match in charge at Everton, when the Toffees came from 2-0 down to beat Watford, but that does not seem to have been enough.
Unsworth could still be in charge at Everton for their next match, which comes against Crystal Palace at the weekend.
