Tottenham Hotspur winger Erik Lamela is set to miss over a year’s worth of action with injury.

According to a report in the Daily Star, Tottenham Hotspur’s Erik Lamela won’t come back until October.

Lamela damaged his hip last season, and now looks set to miss a year’s worth of action.

The Tottenham man under went surgery over the summer to try and correct the problem, and has returned to light training.

However, Lamela’s return is still some way off and he will miss the early part of the campaign.

Lamela’s injury problems have caused great frustrations among Spurs fans, who are eager for the Argentine to return.

The former Roma man was showing signs of adapting to English football, prior to picking up the injury.

What condition Lamela will return in for Spurs remains to be seen, but his come back should boost the quality of Mauricio Pochettino’s attacking line-up.

Lamela was a key part of Pochettino’s team when fit, with his ability to press from the front key to Spurs’ style.

In better Spurs injury news, The Daily Star report that Heung Min Son is set to return sooner than expected and should be back in Pochettino’s squad in the near future.
