According to The Daily Mail, prospective Newcastle United board member Jamie Reuben has been wowed by Queens Park Rangers midfielder Eberechi Eze.
It has been reported that Reuben, who is a director at QPR, has been impressed with the midfielder’s outstanding performances.
The report has claimed that Newcastle have expressed an interest in signing the 21-year-old from Championship club Rangers in the summer transfer window.
According to The Daily Mail, Reuben will be a board member at Newcastle, with his family set to own a 10% stake in the Premier League club once the Saudi Arabia-backed £300 million takeover goes through.
Stats
According to WhoScored, Eze has made 37 appearances in the Championship for QPR so far this season, scoring 12 goals and providing eight assists in the process.
Move to Newcastle United?
With QPR unlikely to clinch promotion from the Championship this season, the London club may be willing to sell Eze this summer.
With Reuben already knowing the 21-year-old and what the midfielder can offer, Newcastle could find themselves in a very good position to sign him once the takeover goes through.
