Ruben Vinagre’s transfer from Wolverhampton Wanderers to Porto is now almost impossible, according to Record.
Vinagre has been strongly linked with a return to his homeland, after Wolves signed Fernando Marcal.
It was claimed that Porto wanted the left-back as a replacement for Alex Telles, in whom several top clubs have been credited with an interest.
But Record reports that Wolves consider Vinagre an ‘asset they will not give up at any price’.
It is worth considering that for Vinagre and Marcal, who can also play on the left of a back three, are Wolves’ only available, senior options in their position, following the injury suffered by Jonny Castro Otto.
And losing the 21-year-old former Sporting and Monaco youth team player could mean another dip into the transfer market for the Molineux club.
Vinagre has played 67 times for Wolves since his 2017 move, in which time he has scored or assisted five goals.
The Lisbon native signed a new five-year deal at the club last summer.
