Rangers are battling to keep Josh Windass at Ibrox this month.

According to the Daily Mail, Preston North End are preparing to return with a new bid of £1million for Rangers ace Josh Windass after failing with their first offer.
Windass, 23, starred with Accrington Stanley as he hit 17 goals in the 2015-16 season, earning a bargain move to Rangers are Mark Warburton swooped to land him.
The attacking midfielder struggled in his first season at Ibrox last term, scoring just once in 27 appearances, but he has started to show his best form this season.

Windass has hit six goals in 24 games this season, flourishing since Pedro Caixinha’s exit as he has been pushed further forward – but Rangers are now fending off interest in his services.
BBC Sport reported on Friday that Preston North End have failed with a £500,000 bid to take Windass back to Lancashire, with the Daily Mail now claiming that Preston are preparing to return with a £1million offer.

North End’s Scottish boss Alex Neil seemingly isn’t giving up hope of landing Windass, and Rangers’ resolve now looks set to be tested once again.
The Lilywhites are looking for another creative player, and with Lewis Morgan set for Celtic, Windass appears to be a top target – and they will hope that doubling their bid can seal a deal.
