Crystal Palace, West Bromwich Albion, West Ham United and Sunderland have been linked with Tomas Rincon.
According to the Guardian (live transfer thread, 30 August 2016 at 12:11), West Bromwich Albion, Sunderland and West Ham United have joined Crystal Palace in the race to sign Tomas Rincon.
A recent report in the Daily Mail claimed that Palace had already submitted a £6.5 million bid for the Genoa midfielder, yet the Eagles evidently aren’t the only club keen on his signature.
Rincon, a 75-capped Venezuela international, moved to Europe with Hamburg back in 2009 and after five solid seasons in the Bundesliga he opted to switch to Serie A with Genoa.
He has since gone on to make 64 league appearances for the Italian side, and last season posted his personal best three goals and six assists over the course of a single campaign.
The 28-year-old can be described as combative, and he is equally apt at putting in a defensive shift as he is going forward and creating chances for his teammates.
West Brom have been extremely quiet in the transfer market this summer, yet the Baggies boss Tony Pulis has spoken of his desire to add a few names to his squad before the upcoming deadline.
Sunderland are in the market for a new goalkeeper and striker more than anything, yet they could be looking at Rincon as a possible alternative to Yann M’Vila who they had on loan last term.
West Ham have a number of players on their books, yet early injuries to key stars has left them short in certain areas and boss Slaven Bilic could still be in the market to bolster the Hammers’ midfield.
The report suggests that Palace remain as the frontrunners for the Genoa midfielder’s signature, yet as the deadline draws closer their Premier League rivals could begin to make their move.
