Reports suggest Real Madrid are ready to make life difficult for club’s such as Manchester United and Arsenal in their pursuit of Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe.
Monaco’s Kylian Mbappe celebrates scoring
According to a recent report in French media outlet L’Equipe, Real Madrid are prepared to bid in the region of £85 million for Monaco’s talented youngster, Kylian Mbappe.
The French forward has been arguably the most exicitng rising star in European football this season, and has been linked in the past to a number of Premier League clubs.
But will Real Madrid’s interest in the forward result in a financial end-game for other clubs hoping to do a deal for the Monaco striker?
A bid of £85 million, as suggested by the aforementioned French media outlet, would surely out-do much of the competition from the Premier League.
A club like Arsenal, for example, aren’t known for splashing untold riches on youngsters, no matter how good they may or may not be. So is there any chance of seeing Mbappe in the Premier League?
There’s only one club who could likely compete with the money Real Madrid can push for players, and that’s Manchester United.
Kylian Mbappe in action for Monaco
Last summer, both Real Madrid and Manchester United went head-to-head for the transfer of the most exciting French player at the time, Paul Pogba. After stumping up a fee of around £89 million, according to the BBC, United won out.
Seemingly out-bidding the Galacticos, Manchester United proved in this transfer that, financially, they are the biggest in the market, and could attract the most sought-after players in the world.
Could Jose Mourinho use his influence, and the club’s huge financial stature, to once again battle for an exciting young European? This move will certainly be worth keeping an eye out for this summer.
