Brighton and Hove Albion are thoroughly expecting Arsenal to pay up for midfielder Moises Caicedo this summer.
Arsenal want Moises Caicedo this summer with Brighton and Hove Albion confident a deal will materialise.
That is according to a report from Football Transfers, who claim that Brighton believe a summer move for Caicedo to join Arsenal will take place.
Arsenal are thought to have agreed personal terms with Caicedo in January and the terms of that proposal still stand.
The Gunners know that Brighton want around £75million for Caicedo, and the Seagulls think Edu and Mikel Arteta will accept the terms.
Caicedo – hailed as an ‘excellent holding player’ by Bryan Robson – wants to play in the Champions League, giving Arsenal an advantage over other interested clubs like Chelsea and Liverpool.
The Ecuadorian midfielder only signed a new long-term deal in March, weeks after he missed out on a move to Arsenal.
However, boss Roberto De Zerbi indicated on Sunday that Caicedo has probably played his final game for Brighton.
A summer move looks to be on the cards and Arsenal could finally land their man – for a huge price.

Arsenal midfield could look very different amid Moises Caicedo chase
Arsenal ran Manchester City close for the Premier League title and will now be looking to improve into next season.
Mikel Arteta now seems ready to overhaul his midfield in the hope of closing the gap to City again.
Granit Xhaka looks poised to leave Arsenal this summer with a move to German side Bayer Leverkusen on the cards.
Thomas Partey has been linked away too, possibly signalling a real sea change in Arsenal’s engine room.
Football Transfers claim that Arsenal want to secure both Caicedo and West Ham United star Declan Rice.
We could therefore see Caicedo playing a rather all-action defensive role with Rice replacing Xhaka having proven himself as a box-to-box player.
That would be an expensive double move for Arsenal, but one Arteta may push for after falling short in the title race.
