Fabrizio Romano has taken to Twitter to share an interesting development about reported Liverpool target, Denis Zakaria.
Liverpool have been heavily linked with a move for the Switzerland international midfielder in recent months.
According to Gazzetta in Italy, Jurgen Klopp’s outfit are actually favourites to purchase the powerhouse.
And the reliable Italian journalist has revealed on Twitter that Zakaria has sacked his agent and found new management, amid speculation about a transfer to Liverpool.
Romano added that the Anfield club have also made contact with his new representative – Hasan Cetinkaya – about bringing his client to Merseyside.
Compared to Paul Pogba
What a brilliant signing this could be for Liverpool.
Remember, Klopp and Michael Edwards never really replaced Georginio Wijnaldum following his release from Anfield this past summer.
But Liverpool are still going to need new midfielders.
Naby Keita is as injury prone as they come; Jordan Henderson is the wrong side of 30 – as is Thiago Alcantara; Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain hasn’t really delivered.

Yes, Liverpool have two sensations in the form of Curtis Jones and Harvey Elliot, both of whom may be stalwarts in Liverpool’s midfield for years to come.
But for now, they’re too young to be relied upon [both are injured, too].
Zakaria, however, is only 25 – a perfect age, more or less.
Besides, the Paul Pogba comparisons alone make this exciting if Liverpool could get it done, after Zakaria himself admitted to being flattered by the comparisons.
Admittedly, Zakaria isn’t at Pogba’s level just yet but in the right team, with the right manager, who knows.
