There are reports in the Italian press that Arsenal’s Lukas Podolski could push to be allowed to join Inter as soon as January.
Lukas Podolski’s patience is being tested at Arsenal and the Italian press are suggesting he is ready to start a new life in Serie A.
The German international has been reduced to a spectator for much of this season and has admitted his frustration at waiting in the wings for substitute appearances.
Podolski is known to have a host of admirers across Europe and Italian side Inter have been frequently tipped to make a move.
New Inter boss Roberto Mancini reportedly wants to add Podolski to the squad as Inter look to bounce back from a terrible start to the season.
Podolski’s representatives are said to have told Inter director Piero Ausilio that he is open to a move sooner rather than later and they must now convince Arsenal to green light the deal.
The initial agreement would probably take the form of a loan with the option to make the switch permanent in the summer.
The challenge for Inter will be finding the money to meet Podolski’s wage demands, but their success in persuading Nemanja Vidic to sign during the summer is a good sign.
