According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino wants to bring in Matthijs de Ligt, Ryan Sessegnon and Anthony Martial after signing his new contract.

Spurs announced the news fans had been waiting for on Thursday afternoon, as they confirmed that Pochettino has penned a new five-year contract to stay with the club until 2023.

Having made concerning comments after the FA Cup semi-final defeat to Manchester United, Pochettino’s new contract suggests that he will be given major funds by Daniel Levy to spend on new signings.

The Mirror now report that Pochettino has three top targets in mind; Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt, Fulham starlet Ryan Sessegnon and Manchester United forward Anthony Martial.

Signing all three players would be a remarkable summer for Spurs, but such moves would cost Tottenham a fortune, and Spurs may need to prioritise some targets over others.

If Toby Alderweireld does – as expected – leave the club this summer, De Ligt makes sense as the perfect replacement, whilst the same can be said for Sessegnon replacing Danny Rose as a left wing back.

Martial would be a superb addition to the Tottenham front line, but Pochettino does have options there already in Son Heung-min and Lucas Moura, as well as star striker Harry Kane, meaning he would be an dream signing rather than a necessity.

In De Ligt and Sessegnon, Spurs can land two of the top young players in Europe, and that would give Pochettino great prospects to work with throughout that five-year deal – and the two teenagers should be top priorities for Tottenham this summer.
