Tottenham Hotspur appear to be closing in on Tanguy Ndombele.
According to L’Equipe, as relayed and translated by Get French Football News, Tottenham Hotspur boss Mauricio Pochettino told Lyon ace Tanguy Ndombele that he wants to win the Premier League title this coming season.
It’s noted that Spurs are now closing in on a move to sign Lyon star Ndombele in a club-record deal, and the report details how Ndombele made a secret visit to Tottenham earlier this month.
The 22-year-old allegedly visited Tottenham’s facilities after his international duty with France, and left completely convinced that Spurs were the right club for him.
Additionally, Ndombele was allegedly swayed even further towards Spurs by his conversation with boss Pochettino, who told him that he wants to build a team capable of winning the league title next season.
That all points towards Ndombele’s deal with Spurs being an absolute breeze once a deal is finalised with Lyon, and Tottenham fans will be hugely excited by the update.
Starting with Ndombele, the French international is the ideal signing for Spurs. He has the drive and technical ability to replace Mousa Dembele in midfield, whilst still having huge potential to develop over the coming years.
As for Pochettino’s comments, how could any Spurs fans not love to hear that? Pochettino has gone from merely hoping to crack the top four when he arrived in 2014, to the Champions League final and now eyeing the Premier League title.
With Ndombele on board, Spurs are another piece closer to that goal, and his plans for the club suggest that more signings will be coming before the end of the transfer window.
