Tottenham’s Ryan Sessegnon could make a return to Fulham this summer with the £30 million bench-warmer looking to avoid another season on the sidelines, according to the Telegraph.

While Jose Mourinho might argue otherwise, and he has on numerous occasions, handing opportunities to young players is not exactly his forte.

Back in 2014, Mourinho famously claimed that he would ‘blame himself’ if Chelsea starlets Dominic Solanke, Todd Kane, Izzy Brown and Lewis Baker were not ‘national team players in a few years’, while simultaneously failing to give even a sniff of a first-team chance to the teenage quartet (Mail).

Flash forward six years and Sessegnon knows exactly how Solanke and co must have felt during Jose’s second spell at Stamford Bridge.

Tottenham looked to have pulled off a major coup when they beat some of Europe’s biggest clubs to the £30 million signing of an England U21 international last summer.

But Sessegnon has made just three Premier League appearances since Mourinho replaced Mauricio Pochettino at the helm last November and, as a result, he is allegedly growing tired with life in north London.

The Telegraph reports that Sessegnon is ‘desperate’ for first-team football in 2020/21.

While Spurs have no plans to let the left-winger-cum-left-back leave on loan or otherwise, expect him to push for a short-term return to a Fulham side who beat Brentford in the play-off final on Tuesday.

Sessegnon famously won the Championship Player of the Year award aged just 17 three seasons ago, and played under Scott Parker for a brief spell in 2019/20.
