Real Madrid and PSG have joined Arsenal in the race to try and secure Jesse Lingard’s talents this summer, according to reports.

The Evening Standard has recently reported that Lingard has emerged as a real target for Arsenal, after his eight goals in nine Premier League games on loan at West Ham.

But it now seems as though the likes of Arsenal and West Ham have potential competition for his signature.

ESPN are reporting that PSG, Real Madrid and Inter Milan are a host of clubs, alongside the Premier League’s top-six, monitoring Lingard’s situation at the London Stadium.

Even though Lingard has only played nine Premier League games this season, he has more goals than Sadio Mane and Timo Werner, who were both expected to be near the top of the goalscoring charts before a ball was kicked this season.

As Lingard pulls out his trademark dance after every goal, these rumours will be music to the ears for those in the Old Trafford boardroom.

If they wish to sell their academy product then they might be able to start a serious bidding war between a number of clubs for their recently revived talent.

And if Lingard’s performances fire West Ham into the Champions League then his price tag will only skyrocket.

That will only bode well for some clubs, who have big enough pockets to snap him up, Arsenal have proved in recent times that they don’t have such financial power.

As for the Hammers, they may well have to break their club transfer record if Lingard continues in his current form because, even after just nine Premier League matches, he is proving to be one of the standout stars of the season.
