According to the London Evening Standard, a source close to Mauricio Pochettino’s situation at Tottenham believes the Argentinian will stay at the club out of the belief he has unfinished business.

Spurs lost 2-0 to Liverpool in Saturday’s Champions League final, falling to goals from Mohamed Salah and Divock Origi in Madrid.

Tottenham’s remarkable run to the final didn’t end with a dream trophy win, and now the attention will turn to the summer transfer window and Pochettino’s future as manager.

Pochettino has been linked with a move away from Spurs for some time, and the London Evening Standard claim that Pochettino may have been tempted to walk away from the club had he won the Champions League, feeling he’d taken the club as far as he could.

However, a source close to Pochettino’s situation claims that he’s now likely to see Tottenham as ‘unfinished business’, aiming to go again next season rather than leave for, say, Juventus.

That’s great news for Spurs ahead of the transfer window, and Pochettino already appears to have some exits in mind, with Erik Lamela allegedly on the transfer list.

The £30million signing from Roma in 2013 (Daily Mail) has flattered to deceive in six years with Spurs, and Pochettino may well have had enough as he looks to bolster his squad.

Lamela, 27, hit six goals and four assists, but now allegedly finds himself available for transfer alongside Serge Aurier and Victor Wanyama.
