Just hours before the first team claimed their win, Tottenham’ Under-19’s were in UEFA Youth League action against Dortmund, and they also claimed a victory, beating the German outfit 3-1.

Whilst playmakers Marcus Edwards and Samuel Shashoua stole the headlines, midfielder Oliver Skipp again put in a good showing, hitting the crossbar in the victory.

The 17-year-old has earned rave reviews from his time with the Spurs youth setup, and Football.London report that first-team boss Pochettino is keeping a close eye on his development.

Pochettino has helped former youth team stars Harry Winks and Harry Kane thrive in the first team, whilst the likes of Kyle Walker-Peters, Josh Onomah and the aforementioned Edwards are expect to step up in the near future.

It’s now believed that Skipp’s performances have now caught Pochettino’s eye, and the Tottenham manager’s commitment to bringing through young players means the teenager could hold out hope of a first-team call-up this term.
