Pep Guardiola’s Manchester City have been linked with Ben Chilwell, but incoming Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino does not want the full-back to leave Stamford Bridge in the summer transfer window.

Mauricio Pochettino plan on Manchester City target and Chelsea star Ben Chilwell

According to The Independent, Pochettino has agreed to become the new manager of Chelsea.

The former Tottenham Hotspur boss will take charge of the Premier League club at the end of the season.

The report has claimed that Pochettino “already made clear his admiration” for a number of current Chelsea players, including Chilwell.

According to CBS Sports journalist Ben Jacobs in TEAMtalk in March 2023, City manager Pep Guardiola personally wants to sign the 26-year-old England international left-back.

Jacobs claimed that Guardiola has liked Chilwell for a while now and would love to have the £190,000-a-week (SalarySport) in his team for next season and beyond.

Summer transfer unlikely

In our view, Chelsea are not going to sell Ben Chilwell to Manchester City in the summer transfer window.

Pochettino will become the new Chelsea manager, and he will be fully aware of just how good the 26-year-old is.

The England international is one of the best left-backs around, and there is no way that Chelsea would be willing to sell him in the summer of 2023.

Now, of course, we know that every player has his price, but until and unless defending Premier League champions City offer a ridiculously big transfer fee, then Chelsea will not listen to any bids.
