Philippe Coutinho does not want a move to Leicester City, but Newcastle United remain in the hunt, according to Mundo Deportivo.

Coutinho has been linked with a host of Premier League sides, with Newcastle and Leicester both touted as potential options for the Brazilian.

However, Coutinho apparently doesn’t feel that a move to Leicester would appeal to him.

Newcastle, on the other hand, are still given a chance of landing the Barcelona playmaker by the Spanish publication.

Any transfer would depend on Newcastle’s takeover being approved, but if Coutinho was to arrive it would officially show the pulling power of the Tyneside club.

Leicester are currently competing for the top four, while Newcastle are in 13th spot – but Coutinho appears to see St. James’ Park as a more viable option.

That could be due to the fact Newcastle are set to become one of the richest clubs in the world, if their new owners are given the green-light to takeover.

Newcastle are likely to have more funds to spend in the summer than Leicester, and Coutinho could be one of a number of high-profile players to arrive at St. James’ Park.
