According to Get French Football News, Houssem Aouar would prefer Manchester City to Arsenal if he was to move to the Premier League.

It has been reported that Arsenal are interested in signing Aouar from Lyon in the summer transfer window.

The French club are asking for €60 million (£54.76 million) as transfer fee for the 22-year-old midfielder, who had not seriously thought of moving to England before this summer, according to the report.

The report has added that the Frenchman’s priority would be City and not Arsenal if he was to move to the Premier League, with Pep Guardiola having a ‘longstanding interest’ in him.

The report in Get French Football News comes following a claim in Le10 Sport that Arsenal are planning to make a second bid for the 22-year-old, as covered by HITC Sport.

Staying positive

It is hard to see City make a move for Aouar this summer, as the Citizens are well stocked in the midfield department.

Arsenal should not given up hope of signing the midfielder, as working under manager Mikel Arteta and playing for one of the biggest clubs in the world could be very tempting for the 22-year-old.
