According to O Jogo, Bayern Munich have joined the race to sign Tottenham target Vitinha, who Wolves decided not to sign in 2021.

What’s the story?

Well, the 22-year-old spent the 2020/21 campaign on loan at Molineux, where Wolves had an option to make the deal permanent for £18m (Express and Star).

The Premier League side opted not to activate the clause, a decision which they will surely be regretting now.

O Jogo believe Vitinha is on Bayern Munich’s shortlist, as the German giants scour Portugal for the next big thing.

It comes after Mercado Azul revealed that Tottenham are looking to sign the Santo Tirso-born maestro, who is represented by Jorge Mendes.

So far this season, Vitinha has shone for Porto, making 38 appearances in all competitions while recording six goal involvements.

Wolves will kick themselves if Tottenham or Bayern Munich sign Vitinha

In our view, that £18m deal Wolves were offered is starting to look like a bargain fee, as Vitinha is worth much more nowadays.

If the Portuguese playmaker ends up starring in the Champions League for Bayern Munich, then Wolves will kick themselves for missing out.

It speaks volumes that coaches of Antonio Conte and Julian Nagelsmann’s quality want to work with the youngster, who didn’t really get a chance in the Midlands.

During his season-long loan at Wolves, Vitinha only made 22 appearances, but nearly all of them came as a substitute.

Wolves don’t make many errors in the market, although their decision to reject Vitinha now looks like a bad move.
