According to The Daily Mail, Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard wants to join Leicester City, not Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal.
It has been reported that Brendan Rodgers’s Leicester and Arsenal are interested in signing Edouard from Celtic in the summer of 2021.
The 23-year-old striker has indicated that he wants to join Rodgers, having worked with him at Celtic, according to the report, which has added that a deal worth £15 million is close to being agreed between the two clubs.
Rodgers reportedly sees the 23-year-old as a long-term replacement for Jamie Vardy.
Good decision?
Arsenal are a bigger club than Leicester, and some will be surprised at Edouard’s reported decision to pick the Foxes over the Gunners.
However, there are some good reasons why the reported decision makes sense. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is the number one striker at Arsenal, who also have Alexandre Lacazette to call up in attack.

Edouard – who is represented by the agent of Wales international winger Gareth Bale (who is on loan at Tottenham Hotspur from Real Madrid at the moment) Jonathan Barnett (who is actually an Arsenal fan), according to AS – would not get ahead of Aubameyang or Lacazette.
The 23-year-old striker knows Rodgers well, and Leicester could also end up in the Champions League next season.
