Leeds United reportedly look set to miss out on Sergio Aguero to Barcelona, but perhaps the Whites will not be too disappointed.

The Daily Star reported earlier this month that Leeds are among the clubs who want to sign Aguero on a free transfer this summer.

Described by Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola as “incredible” in Goal.com in February 2020, the 32-year-old striker has also been linked with Tottenham Hotspur and Everton, with the decision having been made that he will leave the Citizens this summer.

However, it seems that Aguero is on his way to Barcelona.

The Mirror has reported that the Argentina international striker will agree a two-year contract with Barcelona.

The report has added that the former Atletico Madrid star will earn £80,000 per week as salary over a two-year period.

Aguero is a world-class striker, and there is no doubt that he deserves that kind of wage.

However, it is a bit too expensive for Leeds, and perhaps the West Yorkshire club will not feel too disappointed with themselves for missing out on the striker to Spanish and European giants Barcelona.

After all, Aguero has had injury problems this season, and Patrick Bamford is doing just fine in the Premier League.
