Leeds United will beat Newcastle United to the signature of Robin Koch, according to The Daily Star.
It has been reported that the Freiburg defender will undergo a medical at Leeds this weekend before putting pen to paper on a contract.
Newcastle and Lazio also want the 24-year-old central defender, but he has picked the Whites, according to the report.
The report has added that after Koch completes his move to Leeds, he will fly back to Germany and join up with his international teammates on Monday.
Leeds will pay Freiburg a transfer fee of £13 million to secure the services of the Germany international, according to the report.
Good signing for Leeds United?
Koch is a very good central defender who can also operate as a defensive midfielder.
The German is one of the better players in his position in the Bundesliga, and it is quite a coup from Leeds to beat the likes of Newcastle and Lazio to the signature of the 24-year-old.
A ball-playing central defender, Koch will make Leeds a better team at the back.
As for Newcastle, only time will tell if they will regret not being able to secure the services of Koch.
