It has been reported that Everton have made an offer of £18 million for the Denmark international midfielder.
The Saints value the 24-year-old midfielder at £35 million, and Spurs have fallen short of that valuation, although the North London outfit are willing to involve Kyle Walker-Peters in the deal, according to the report.
The report has added that Southampton want to do a separate deal over Walker-Peters, who is on loan at the club at the moment.

Meanwhile, Tottenham head coach Jose Mourinho has refused to say if Jan Vertonghen will leave the club at the end of the season.
The Belgium international central defender is out of contract at Spurs at the end of the month, and the match against Leicester City on Sunday could potentially be his final home match for the North London club.
Mourinho told Football.London when asked if Sunday’s game will be the last home match for Vertonghen: “I cannot say that, it’s not for me to say that. Someone who has been in the club for eight months cannot speak about somebody who has eight years of brilliant contribution to the club.
“The only thing I can say is every day is a pleasure for me to work with a guy of his dimension. I can only have very good words about Jan.
“His future belongs to him. At the moment we will inform and that’s the correct procedure for a player of the last generation at the club. Eight years means a lot in modern football.”
