Report: Player open to West Ham exit, club want him gone

Jack Wilshere is open to leaving West Ham United for Major League Soccer in the summer transfer window, according to The London Evening Standard.

It has been reported that West Ham are keen on offloading the 28-year-old midfielder, who earns £100,000 per week as salary.

The former Arsenal midfielder believes that moving to a club in MLS ‘could reignite his career’.

Disappointing spell at West Ham United

Wishere joined West Ham on a free transfer after leaving London and Premier League rivals Arsenal in the summer transfer window.

The England international midfielder had injury problems at the Gunners, and the 28-year-old has not had not have much luck with fitness issues at the London Stadium either.

According to WhoScored, Wilshere made two starts and six substitute appearances in the Premier League for West Ham last season.

During the 2018-19 campaign, the midfielder made four starts and four substitute appearances in the league for the Hammers, providing one assist in the process, according to WhoScored.

Wilshere has failed to make an impact at West Ham, and it would be best for the London club and the midfielder if they go their separate ways this summer.
