It has been reported that Markelo will join Dutch club Twente on loan from Premier League outfit Everton in the summer transfer window.
The report has added that the move will be finalised after the 21-year-old midfielder passes a medical at the Dutch club.
Good decision?
Markelo signed a new two-year contract at Everton earlier this month, as reported by The Liverpool Echo.
The Dutch midfielder needs to play regular first-team football, and that is not possible at the Toffees at the moment.
Manager Carlo Ancelotti will be looking to guide the Merseyside outfit to the European places next season and Markelo is unlikely to feature much.
Twente are an ambitious club in the Netherlands, and the 21-year-old midfielder will develop and progress well in a very competitive environment.
That Everton decided to hand him a new contract this month suggests that the Merseyside outfit do think that he has a long-term future at Goodison Park.
