According to The Daily Mail, Aston Villa goalkeeper Tom Heaton was offered to Liverpool, but he is now set to join Manchester United instead.
It has been reported that Liverpool are looking to sign a new goalkeeper in the summer transfer window as a back-up to Alisson.
Adrian is out of contract at the Reds at the end of the season and has been offered an extension, according to the report.
The report has added that the former West Ham United goalkeeper has yet to accept it.
Heaton is out of contract at Villa and was offered to Liverpool, but the 35-year-old is now close to agreeing terms with his former club United, according to the report.
The English goalkeeper is 35 years of age now and is behind Emiliano Martinez in the pecking order at Villa.
Heaton will be a back-up at United, and he would have been a good signing for Liverpool, especially on a free transfer.

Capped three times by England, Heaton is a very experienced goalkeeper who has turned out for Cardiff City, Bristol City and Burnley.
Villa chief executive Christian Purslow rates Heaton highly and raved about him back in August 2019.
The former Liverpool managing director told The Times at the time: “Dean and Suso sat down, and said, ‘OK, we’ve achieved all of our outfield targets, it would be good to have an experienced, senior pro who had seen the Premier League.’ Tom was that target.
“Yes we were buying England’s No 2 but we were buying experience and additional leadership. Everybody we spoke to said, ‘Tom Heaton will be a really good senior pro for you.’”
Heaton has had injury problems, and although he is 35, he can still do a good job when called upon.
