Chancel Mbemba could make a return to the Premier League this summer after leaving Newcastle United in 2018, according to the Chronicle.
Newcastle sold Mbemba for £4.1 million just two years ago (Chronicle), and it seems that his value could well have risen away from St. James’ Park.
Mbemba has impressed in the heart of Porto’s defence this term, and Premier League scouts are now reportedly flocking to watch him.
Although no clubs are named, the 25-year-old is seemingly of interest to top flight English clubs.
Newcastle may now be regretting selling Mbemba for such a cheap price, but it is not fair to say that they have missed him.

Newcastle are very well stocked in central defence themselves, and there are no guarantees that Mbemba would have been given regular game time if he had stuck around on Tyneside, despite his improvements.
Mbemba has made 32 appearances for Porto this term, and has looked rock solid throughout the campaign.
During his time with Newcastle the Congolese international only played 59 times across three seasons, and he had fallen well out of favour by the time he departed.
