Reported Arsenal and Chelsea target Sergej Milinkovic-Savic is reportedly set to sign for Al-Hilal and become the latest player to make the move to the Middle East.

That’s according to Italian outlet Repubblica, who claim that the current Lazio midfielder is set to sign for the Saudi Arabian side. According to the report, Al-Hilal will pay €40 million (£34 million) to sign the 28-year-old.

Milinkovic-Savic has been linked to the Premier League, seemingly, for years now. He was heavily linked with Manchester United back in 2018 when Jose Mourinho was the United boss. Last summer, United were again reportedly interested in the Serbian midfielder, but nothing came of it.

He now is seemingly heading to Al-Hilal, where he will earn €20 million (£17 million) a season, according to the report from the Italian outlet.

United’s interest has always been well documented, but recently Chelsea and Arsenal have reportedly registered their interest in the 28-year-old. It seems, however, that he is heading to Al-Hilal.

La Gazzetta dello Sport reported this month interest from Chelsea and Arsenal in the midfielder.

Blessed with strength, power, and an abundance of quality on the ball, the Serbian was always seen as the replacement for Paul Pogba when his time at United was seemingly coming to an end.

£34 million will be enough for Al-Hilal to sign the midfielder. It does seem like a strange decision for the midfielder to leave now, with Lazio securing Champions League football, but with such a strong wage package on offer, it makes sense.

It seems the Serbian will be lining up with Ruben Neves, Kalidou Koulibaly, and former West Bromwich Albion winger Matheus Pereira in the Middle East soon.
