According to Eurosport, Celtic are interested in signing James McCarthy from Crystal Palace in the January transfer window.
It has been reported that McCarthy himself is keen on a move to Celtic next month, having grown up as a supporter of the Glasgow giants.
The report has added that the defending Scottish Premiership giants will consider selling midfielder Olivier Ntcham in January to fund a move for the 30-year-old Republic of Ireland international.
Crystal Palace struggles
McCarthy has been on the books of Palace since 2019 and is struggling for playing time at the London club at the moment.
According to WhoScored, the 30-year-old central midfielder has made four starts and one substitute appearance in the Premier League for the Eagles so far this season.
During the 2019-20 campaign, the former Everton man made 16 starts and 17 substitute appearances in the league for Palace, according to WhoScored.
Olivier Ntcham situation
Ntcham joined Celtic from Manchester City in the summer of 2017 for a transfer fee reported by BBC Sport to be worth £4.5 million.
Although the Frenchman has done well for the Hoops over the years and has been involved in their domestic success, the 24-year-old appears to have stagnated in recent times.
According to WhoScored, the midfielder has made seven starts and six substitute appearances in the Scottish Premiership and made three starts and two substitute appearances in the Europa League for Celtic this season.
