According to Football.London, Runar Alex Runarsson is in London to complete a move to Arsenal.
It has been reported that the Iceland international goalkeeper is on the verge of joining Arsenal from Dijon, and that an announcement could be made in the next 48 to 72 hours.
The Telegraph had earlier reported that Arsenal will pay Dijon £1.5 million in transfer fees to secure the services of the 25-year-old goalkeeper.
Replacing Emiliano Martinez
Emiliano Martinez has left Arsenal for Premier League rivals Aston Villa, and the Gunners need to sign a new goalkeeper.
Bernd Leno is the first-choice custodian at the Gunners at the moment, and that is not going to change anytime soon.
However, Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta needs to sign a back-up goalkeeper, and it seems that the club have decided that it will be Runarsson.
The 25-year-old is a back-up at Dijon, but he has played five times for the Iceland national football team.
For the reported tranfer fee of £1.5 million, the 25-year-old goalkeeper could turn out to be a bargain signing for Arsenal, who are aiming to finish in the top four of the Premier League table this season.
