Everton striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin is gearing up for an exit from Goodison Park amid interest from Mikel Arteta’s Arsenal, according to Goal.
Arsenal interest in Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin
The London Evening Standard reported last week that Arsenal are interested in signing Calvert-Lewin from Premier League rivals Everton.
The Gunners are reportedly monitoring the England international striker.
Goal are now reporting that the 24-year-old striker has recently switched agents, ‘with many believing he is gearing up for his next move’.
Arsenal transfer a step-up
In our opinion, leaving Everton for Arsenal would be a step-up for Calvert-Lewin.
Yes, Everton are a big club, but Arsenal are going places and are in a better position at the moment to qualify for the Champions League.
Moreover, until a few years ago, the Gunners were regulars in the Premier League top four.
Arsenal are a massive global brand and have fans from all over the world.
Calvert-Lewin, who is injured at the moment, has done well for Everton in recent seasons.
The Everton no. 9 scored 16 goals in the Premier League last season and 13 in 2019-20.
However, we do not think that Everton will be very eager to sell arguably their best striker.
