Aston Villa manager Steven Gerrard has told his bosses to sign Glen Kamara from Ibrox club Rangers in the January transfer window, according to 90min.

The report has claimed that the former Arsenal prospect would find it hard to turn down a move to Villa.

Kamara admires Gerrard, with whom he worked at Rangers.

The former Liverpool midfielder recently left his managerial role at Rangers and moved to Villa.

Could a January transfer happen?

Kamara signed a new deal with Rangers only in September 2021.

The Finland international midfielder now has a contract with the Gers until the summer of 2025.

In our view, Rangers are unlikely to sell Kamara in the middle of the season.

After all, the 26-year-old is an important player in the Gers team.

Rangers are aiming to win the Scottish Premiership title for the second season in a row.

The Ibrox club could also progress to the latter stages of the Euroa League.

Why would Rangers sell Kamara in January?

Now, of course, a big offer could tempt the Gers, but, in our view, it is very likely that Rangers will wait until the end of the season before selling Kamara.

And they would want much more than the £50,000 they paid to Dundee for Kamara which saw the transfer described as “the deal of the century” by Rangers legend Barry Ferguson in The Daily Record in September 2021.
