Arsenal midfielder Mo Elneny has been offered to Turkish giants Galatasaray by his agent William D’Avila as the Egypt international struggles for game time at the Premier League outfit, as reported by Sporx.
While the former Basel ace has stepped up when required this season – particularly in last year’s 1-0 win at Manchester United – it seems Elneny was merely a short-term sticking plaster rather than a long-term solution to Mikel Arteta’s midfield issues.
The long-serving scrapper has found starts hard to come by since Thomas Partey’s return to fitness.
With Estadio Deportivo claiming that Arsenal have made contact with Real Betis star Guido Rodriguez – a similarly deep-lying distributor – it seems Elneny’s five-year spell in North London is coming to an end.
The 28-year-old’s contract expires in the summer of 2022 and, according to Sporx, agent William D’Avila has been in touch with Galatasaray to see whether a return to Istanbul could be on the cards for the one-time Besiktas loanee.

The report suggests that Elneny would be open to the move and is keen to play alongside Egypt teammate Mostafa Mohamed at the Super Lig title challengers.
“What Mo transmits through the team is special,” Arteta said in November after arguably Elneny’s finest Arsenal display in that hard-fought win at Old Trafford (Metro).
“He has this energy as a person, he goes in a room and he creates an atmosphere. Today I thought we needed that energy and that positive feeling he brings all the time and I think he was tremendous on the pitch.”
