Arthur Cabral wants to move to the Premier League amid interest from Leeds United, according to UOL.
It has been reported by the Brazilian news outlet that Leeds have made an initial offer of €15 million (£13.34 million) upfront plus €3 million (£2.71 million) in bonuses to Basel, but the Swiss club want €20 million (£18.05 million) – his release clause.
The report has claimed that the striker’s agents are flying in to Portugal to close a deal.
One of the striker’s representatives, Luiz Portela, is traveling to Lisbon, while another, Paulo Pitombeira, will meet him there, as they plan to complete the transfer to Leeds, according to the report.
The report has added that the 22-year-old Brazilian striker is keen on playing in the Premier League.
Need for a striker
Patrick Bamford is the only senior out-and-out striker in the current Leeds squad, and that needs to change next season.
With Leeds playing in the Premier League in 2020-21, head coach Marcelo Bielsa has to add a new senior striker who can compete with Bamford and potentially displace him from the starting lineup.
Cabral is a very promising young player who made his loan move from Brazilian club Palmeiras to Basel permanent this summer and will get better under the guidance of Bielsa.
