Sky Italia have claimed that reported Everton target Ciro Immobile is set to pen a five year deal with current club Lazio.

According to 90 Minutes in June Everton boss Carlo Ancelotti had asked Farhad Moshiri to sign Immobile for him this summer.

However, that transfer seems to have become impossible, as Immobile is set to stay with his current side.

The Italian goalscorer, who is now 30, could pen a new contract to keep him with Lazio until he is 2025.

That may cause some disappointment at Everton, although landing him always seemed difficult.

90 Minutes reported how Everton would have had to pay £50 million to sign Immobile, which would have been a questionable move for a player who has little re-sale value, due to his advancing years.

Immobile would have increased the quality of Everton’s squad though.

The Italian international was a frequent scorer last term and would have significantly improved Ancelotti’s attacking options, so the Toffees’ boss’s apparent desire to sign him was understandable.
