Newcastle United decided that Tottenham Hotspur were not offering value-for-money with Danny Rose and opted to look elsewhere, the Northern Echo report.
Newcastle had Rose on loan from Tottenham last season and he played regularly.
However, Daniel Levy’s demands for the full-back this summer were deemed to be too much, with Newcastle walking away from a potential deal.
Newcastle have decided to move for Jamal Lewis from Norwich City instead, which has left Rose rather stuck at Tottenham.
The England international appears to have no future under Jose Mourinho, who is favouring other options.

The Tottenham boss has started with Ben Davies, and both youngsters Ryan Sessegnon and Dennis Cirkin now appear ahead of Rose in the pecking order.
The 30-year-old still seems likely to leave Spurs this summer, but Newcastle certainly won’t be his destination now.
