Newcastle United are reportedly interested in signing Arsenal hitman Alexandre Lacazette.
A lot of big-name players have been linked with a move to St James’s Park in recent weeks.
Saudi Public Investment Fund completed a takeover at Newcastle earlier this month and there’s been a lot of exciting transfer speculation.
The latest name to find himself attached to the Magpies is the in-form Arsenal marksman.
Lacazette won a penalty in Friday’s win over Aston Villa, after being recalled to the first XI following his last-minute goal against Crystal Palace at the start of the week.
And according to The Mirror on Sunday [Oct 24, page 54], Newcastle are keen on the player in January – and they might get him.
Available
Lacazette, who has managed 51 goals in 132 Premier League outings for the Gunners, is out of contract at the Emirates next summer.
And Arsenal have reportedly already offered him out to a number of clubs in Italy, indicating that they’re looking to cash in on the 30-year-old hitman.
The former Lyon star, who cost £46 million in 2017, was described as ‘phenomenal‘ by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta only last week.
But he’s almost certainly available, despite his form, and it’ll be interesting to see if Newcastle tickles his fancy.
