Liverpool are reportedly keen on signing Real Madrid’s Karim Benzema in the summer, according to former player Philippe Coutinho.

The Merseyside outfit will surely be big players during the summer transfer window, and will be heavily armed with cash, after recouping £145 million from Coutinho’s sale to the Spanish giants last month.
The Reds currently have one of the scariest attacking line-ups in Europe, but there is definitely a void that still needs to be filled following the Brazilian’s exit from Anfield.

It could also be argued that more competition for Roberto Firmino is required, if Liverpool are to mount a sustained push for major honours on all fronts next season.
Don Balon believe that Jürgen Klopp is lining up a summer swoop for Benzema. They claim that Coutinho has told his Barca teammates that his former club are keen on bringing the Frenchman to Anfield.
The suggestion seems a strange one, though, what with Benzema’s playing style not being suited at all to Klopp’s high intensity pressing philosophy.

The German also likes his front three to drop deep and interchange positions throughout the duration of a match. The Madrid ace is at his most effective when operating as an out-and-out centre-forward, and it is questionable as to whether he could adjust his playing style to fit in under Klopp’s regime at this late stage in his career.
Anything can happen in football, but Benzema moving to Anfield seems to be a far-fetched idea to say the very least.
