According to Bleacher Report, Everton are now emerging as the leading contender for Philippe Coutinho – and he is having to seriously consider such a move.
It’s claimed that Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are insisting they won’t be signing Coutinho, despite repeated speculation linking them with him.
Everton are now believed to be the most interested club in England. Coutinho is thought to be seriously considering the move, with few other options on the table.
Bayern Munich don’t want to sign Coutinho permanently after a patchy loan spell, and Barcelona want to get shut of him after a disappointing spell in Spain.
Coutinho hit nine goals and eight assists in 33 games for Bayern, failing to truly recapture the form that saw him become a superstar at Liverpool.
A return to Merseyside could be on the cards, but rather than re-join the Reds, Coutinho could find himself pulling on the blue of Everton.

The Toffees are unlikely to be in a position to purchase Coutinho, but a loan move for a year could be ideal for them given the global pandemic and the financial impact of that.
Just where Coutinho would fit into Carlo Ancelotti’s 4-4-2 system remains to be seen, but he would likely play in from the left flank, providing Everton with creativity and a real goal threat from midfield with Gylfi Sigurdsson’s influence fading.
