Rangers manager Steven Gerrard has already added to his right-back options, casting further doubt over Hodson’s future at Ibrox.
Lee Hodson could yet leave Ibrox for good amid reports linking the Rangers right-back with a move to Rotherham United.
The Scottish Sun claimed last week that Rotherham were keen to take Hodson on loan from Rangers.
But according to the Sheffield Star, ‘a potential permanent deal could also be on the cards’ for the Northern Ireland international.
The newspaper adds that Paul Warne, the Rotherham manager, is hungry to sign a right-back after Josh Emmanuel’s return to Ipswich Town.
And Warne says he is expecting to see ‘more bodies coming in over the next couple of weeks’.
Hodson has spent much of his two-year Rangers career playing second fiddle to James Tavernier, who was recently named captain by Steven Gerrard, the new Ibrox boss.
Meanwhile, John Flanagan, the former Liverpool right-back, has also arrived in Glasgow this summer, casting further doubt over Hodson’s future at the club.
Hodson, who began his career at Watford, also had spells with Brentford, Milton Keynes Dons and Kilmarnock before signing for Rangers.
