Galatasaray are reportedly in talks to sign Manchester City talent Kayky on loan, with the Turkish giants managed by former Pep Guardiola assistant Domenec Torrent.

According to Fanatik, discussions have already begun between the two clubs for the Brazilian youngster, with Galatasaray keen on signing Kayky for the 2022/23 season after joining City’s U-23 side in January.

As per the report, Torrent has personally spoken to Guardiola over the deal, with the Spanish coach part of the non-playing staff that led City to a 100-point Premier League finish in 2018.

Since then, Torrent has stepped into first-team management, with the coach spending time with New York City FC before moving to Flamengo in Brazil, with the ex-City figure now manager of Turkish giants Galatasaray.

With the Istanbul-based club sat 12th in the Turkish Super Lig, a big summer is needed if Galatasaray are to return to their titanic club status in Turkey, and signing Kayky could be a smart move in the right direction.

The City teenager, who was hailed as ‘phenomenal’ by Gianluca Di Marzio, has spent his time in Manchester learning the ropes of English football, yet a loan move to Turkey could be ideal for Kayky’s development, especially under one of Guardiola’s former assistants in Torrent.

Learning the Guardiola style of play takes plenty of time and training, yet for Kayky, moving to Galatasaray under Torrent’s coaching could be an ideal middle ground for the youngster.

Indeed, Kayky requires first-team minutes to continue his development, and playing for a huge European club like Galatasaray could be perfect for the teenager, who could become City’s next South American star.
