According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City want to sign Everton left back Lucas Digne during the January transfer window.
It’s claimed that City are desperate to add a new left back having seen Benjamin Mendy’s development stall in recent times.
Ajax ace Nicolas Tagliafico is one target for Pep Guardiola, but the City boss also fancies Everton star Digne, having impressed in the Premier League for more than two years.
Digne, 27, has four assists in just eight Premier League games this season, whilst his total record for Everton now stands at five goals and 17 assists in 87 games.
The Frenchman has impressed going forward throughout his time at Everton, and that’s exactly what Guardiola is seeking.
Everton paid £18million to sign Digne from Barcelona in 2018, but would surely demand a handsome profit in order to let their star left back leave.

Digne has missed the last five games through injury, but that hasn’t put City off as they consider moving for him next month.
City have previously raided Everton for the likes of John Stones, Jack Rodwell and Joleon Lescott, and Digne could follow suit – though a January move ultimately seems unlikely, with Everton no doubt reluctant to sell in mid-season.
