Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola still has ‘eyes on’ Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz, with a January move possible, EuroSport suggest.
Villa signed Luiz from City back in 2019, and he has gone on to play a prominent role in Dean Smith’s side for the last two seasons.
Luiz made a relatively slow start at Villa, as he took time to adjust to a new environment.
However, as time has progressed, he has really shown his quality.
The claret and blues star may not always grab the headlines, but he has proven a hugely effective shield in Villa’s midfield.
With Rodri not entirely convincing at City, Guardiola now wants more options, and the Brazilian moving back to the Etihad Stadium is now talked up as a real possibility.

That would be a huge blow for Villa, who have started this season so brightly.
But if City match their buy-back clause then Smith’s side will be powerless to resist, if City do make an offer.
