According to the Daily Mail, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola is frustrated at the lack of progress in the club’s pursuit of Tottenham defender Kyle Walker.

City have already splashed the cash on Benfica goalkeeper Ederson and Monaco playmaker Bernardo Silva, but more signings are expected this summer after a third-placed finish last season.

Manager Pep Guardiola must look to boost his options in both full back positions, given that right backs Pablo Zabaleta and Bacary Sagna were both released at the end of last season, as was left back Gael Clichy.

City have been pursuing a big-money deal for Tottenham right back Kyle Walker – but the Daily Mail report that Guardiola has been left frustrated by the lack of progress in talks over a deal.

It’s stated that City have offered a £40million deal to sign Walker, but Tottenham and notoriously stubborn chairman Daniel Levy are holding out for a whopping £50million deal.

Walker, 27, joined Spurs from Sheffield United in 2009, and has developed into arguably the Premier League’s top right back under Mauricio Pochettino over the last three years.

The England international did though lose his place in Pochettino’s side towards the end of last season, with Kieran Trippier receiving more playing time as Spurs seemingly prepared for Walker’s exit.

However, with Spurs sticking to their asking price and Guardiola becoming frustrated, it remains to be seen whether Tottenham do allow Walker to make the move to the Etihad Stadium.
