Leeds United are in the market for loan signings over the next week.

According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Everton defender Matthew Pennington wants to re-sign for Leeds United – but Marcelo Bielsa isn’t overly interested in another centre back.
The Whites dropped points for the first time this season with a 2-2 draw at Swansea City on Tuesday night, but Bielsa will be delighted with the way his side battled back having gone behind twice in South Wales.
Leeds remain unbeaten this term and are looking strong, though injuries to Liam Cooper and Pontus Jansson have left fans feeling that another centre back is required, especially with how Swansea’s Oliver McBurnie thrived against Luke Ayling and Gaetano Berardi.
Now, the Yorkshire Evening Post report that Leeds have made contact with Everton about Matthew Pennington, and the defender is interested in a return to Elland Road, but manager Bielsa has been unmoved.
The Argentinian isn’t thought to be keen on adding another defender even with those concerns over Cooper and Jansson, and that means that a move for Pennington may not materialise in the coming week.
Pennington, 23, spent last season on loan with Leeds and didn’t exactly impress, but he wants a return to Elland Road, and is left waiting to see whether Bielsa budges on signing a defender.

Instead, it’s claimed that Leeds are scouting wingers ahead of next week’s loan deadline, in a bid to add competition for the likes of Pablo Hernandez, Ezgjan Alioski and Jack Harrison, as well as another playmaker to cover for Samu Saiz.
Whether Leeds wait until January or rush through deals in the next week remains to be seen, but it seems that Bielsa and co have other priorities than Pennington right now.
