Rangers are hoping to tie up deals for Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera.

According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers will learn on Wednesday whether targets Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera have been given work permits to join the club.
The Gers have added two new faces since the end of the season, with defender Bruno Alves and midfielder Ryan Jack arriving from Cagliari and Aberdeen respectively.

Manager Pedro Caixinha still has plenty of work to do on his squad after a third-placed finish though, with quality needed throughout the squad to try and chase down league champions Celtic.
As reported by The Scottish Sun, Rangers have set up deals to sign Mexican internationals Carlos Pena and Eduardo Herrera – and will learn the fate of their work permit applications on Wednesday.

Pena, 27, is currently featuring for Chivas Guadalajara in Mexico, and the midfielder – who has 19 Mexico caps to his name – has agreed a move to Ibrox having undergone a medical on Friday.
The midfielder is also set to be joined by compatriot Herrera, a 29-year-old striker who spent the majority of his career with UNAM, but he did enjoy a loan spell under Caixinha at Santos Laguna.

With five goals in 21 games under Caixinha at Santos, the burly striker enjoyed his time working with the Rangers boss, and a £1.5million reunion has been agreed.
Yet, with work permits needed for both, Rangers will learn on Wednesday whether they can sign the duo, and there could be some issues given their lack of international football in recent times.
